IOT-BASED CONTAINER MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM INSTACKING YARDS TO IMPROVE CONTAINER SHIPMENTS IN SUPPORTING ECONOMIC GROWTH
IN THE ERA OF SOCIETY 5.0
EXPEDITION > SHIPPING COMPANY > CONTAINER station
SACON is a smart application that is intended to connect 3 (three) parties, namely the Expedition, Shipping Company, and Container Station in order to facilitate the operational flow system of containers.

In this case, the data entered by the expedition party will be processed by the shipping party or the depot party so that it will be directly connected. This happens when the expedition party chooses a service. After success, it is directed to fill in the required personal data and proceed to payment. After payment, the data enters the depot master data and is reconfirmed through the application so that Shipping Instruction appears. This process will make it easier for the expedition party because of the efficiency of time and cost.
A BCR of 1.31 confirms that benefits outweigh costs
Components | Descriptions | Values |
---|---|---|
Benefits | Costs incurred before application | $ 32,734.00 |
Costs incurred after application | $ 14,148.00 | |
Value | $ 18,585.51 | |
Costs | Application Development Cost | $ 8,898.09 |
Application Operating Costs | $ 4,945.32 | |
Maintenance Costs | $ 14,148.49 | |
Value | $ 27,991.90 | |
BCR | Benefit/Cost | 1,31 |
The implementation of the new application yields a clear financial advantage over continuing without it. Although the total cost of acquiring and maintaining the system must be borne upfront, the annual cost savings-amounting to $18,000 more than offset these expenses. Beyond the bottom‐line impact, users benefit from dramatically reduced operational time, a more intuitive interface, and seamless integration with existing systems.
When we compare benefits to costs using the Benefit–Cost Ratio (BCR), we arrive at a value of 1.31; since any BCR greater than 1 indicates that benefits exceed costs, this result confirms that the application is not only justifiable but actually a worthwhile investment.
Based on the results and discussions related to the design of the SACON application which can optimize the delivery of goods through a container management information system in the IoT-based stacking yard in the sea toll concept, several conclusions can be drawn as follows:
